…Quashes Ephraim Inyang’s Ambition

The Senate ambition of Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen, recently sacked Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel, has been thrown out of the window as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State has insisted that the party stands by the decision of Eket Senatorial District Elders Forum which favours Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency.
The State Chairman, Elder Aniekan Akpan gave the position of the party yesterday in Ikot Abasi during the PDP Federal Constituency tour held at the Council Headquarters. Rt Hon. Akpan said as a well organized party, the PDP recognizes the smooth rotation in Eket Senatorial District and they are bound by it for peace and justice.
It would be recalled that with all the Federal Constituencies in Eket Senatorial District having completed their terms, the elders and stakeholders of the district had unanimously agreed that the Senate seat rotates back to Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency in 2023 after 16 years. ‘The party will stand with Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency for Senate 2023’, Rt Hon. Aniekan Akpan said pointedly at the tour.
Speaking also during the tour, leaders and chieftains of the party in the area including Elder Obot Etukafia, Sir Adasi Ubulom, Hon. Udo Sam Umoatan, Engr. Uwem Stephen Okoko among others all reiterated the stance of the Federal Constituency concerning Senate 2023 and warned those attempting to come out for Senate from another Federal Constituency to hold their peace.
The State Chairman of the PDP, Elder Akpan also used the event to formally receive decampees from the APC into the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Federal Constituency.
Earlier in the day, the party delegation had made a brief stopover at Ibom Power Company in Ikot Abasi, where the PDP State Chairman said the Ibom Power Company investment as well as similar investments by the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration in Power speaks of the visionary drive of the PDP administration, restating the commitment of the PDP to always produce leaders who take the state several notches higher in service to the people.
The Managing Director of Ibom Power Company, Engr. Meyen Etukudo, who welcomed the Party delegation said the Ibom Power was one of the strategic investments of the PDP administration in the state, noting that the Power Company has continued to generate power to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for onward distribution by Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) and other distribution companies in the country
