…as new DGM assumes duty

One of the major oil and gas multi-national companies in Nigeria, Total E and P Nigeria Limited has been charged to increase and improve upon her Corporate Social Responsibility in the state.
This call was made by the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Elder Patrick Albert during a luncheon for Journalists in the state as well as formal presentation of the New Deputy General Manager Public Affairs and Communication of Total E & P, Port Harcourt District, Mr Onyekachi Omenuko to Journalists.
Elder Patrick Albert thanked Total E & P for appointing Mr Onyekachi Omenuko to the exalted position and urged him to use his position and wealth of experiences in journalism and public relations to not only contributing to the growth of his employer but contribute to the development of journalism in the state.
He appealed to the Total E & P image maker to assist media professionals in the state in both training programmes and provision of modern working tools for journalists in the state to meet up with the world best practice. He invited the Deputy General Manager Public Affairs and Communication of Total E and P to visit the NUJ secretariat so as to append the company’s signature on the ongoing multi-million projects at the press centre. The NUJ boss recalled efforts of ExxonMobil that donated 75 laptops to journalists, assist in building NUJ mini club house, roofing 2 storey complex among other assistance rendered.
Earlier in his remarks, the Deputy General Manager Public Affairs and Communication of Total E & P, Port Harcourt District, Mr Onyekachi Omenuko thanked Journalists in Akwa Ibom state for the positive and cooperative reportage in favour of his company.
He commended the Media Community in the State for its developmental journalism practice and appealed for more friendly relationship between his company and the media. He noted that coming to Akwa Ibom is like visiting his second home, explained that in his early days of practice, he covered Akwa Ibom, Cross River and other neighboring states and that he has a full grasp of the area.
It is observed that Total E & P has over the years maintained a high level of commitment to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) with her immediate communities and that with the coming of a public Relations expert; much would be achieved by and in favour of Total E & P. In the visit were the star studded staffers of the company including Mr. Royal Godwill ; Manager Public Relations; Mrs. Francisca Makolo; Press Officer and Mr. Diepriye Bamson; Communication Officer.
