A youth leader in Uruan local government area, Comrade David Effiong Akpan has extolled the leadership quality of the speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Aniekan Bassey for carrying youths of the state along in his day to day activities.
Comrade Akpan made the assertion while exchanging views with Century Newsfront recently. He described the speaker as Divine gift to Uruan people and the entire state at this critical moment of the state, “we are most grateful to the speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey who proves his leadership attributes especially, during the period of lockdown. He did everything possible to reach out to his people with palliatives in such challenging times as we are now”.
He maintained that the gesture of the speaker transcends Uruan State constituency that he is from but reach out to many groups, individual and even politicians, called on other political office holders to emulate the gesture of the speaker, “why the gesture of the speaker is unique is that the palliatives he gave out were not limited to his immediate constituency but across the state. I wish other people holding political offices do a similar thing by touching lives during this period, it is a show of leadership prowess and capacity”.
On his political aspiration, Comrade Akpan observed that he is doing what he’s doing today knowing that there is tomorrow, “I am much interested and ready to contest in the next political dispensation but it is in the hands of God who gives power to whomsoever he wills. I will also rely wholly on the acceptance and goodwill of our people for the next political level”.
