…As Office Holds Carol Service
Christians have been reminded of the need for peaceful co-existence during this yuletide season and beyond.
The Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien stated this while addressing staff during the 2021 Chrismas Carol Service held at the ICT Resource center grounds of his Office.
Pastor Andrew-Essien admonished staff to forgive, as well live peacefully with everyone, if they must enjoy fellowship with God. The Accountant General who was full of praises to God for grace to host the Carol service said, the Carol debuted in 2019, but was truncated in 2020 by COVID- 19 pandemic. He said Christmas was a season to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and charged staff to emulate Christ by showing love to all.
While praising his staff on their commitment to duties and the success of the Carol, he thanked members of the planning committee for putting up what he termed “World-class Carol service”.
Setting the tone for the event, the Deputy Accountant General, Mrs. Emem George, thanked God for his benevolence over the staff and Office of the Accountant General in the past year.
Commenting on the theme “Let’s worship and glorify His name “drawn from Psalm 86 verse 9, Mrs. George enjoined Christians to make praise and worship a lifestyle.
Exhorting on the Carol theme, “Let’s worship and glorify His name “Pastor Godwin Peter said, this was an invitation from God to his creatures for worship. Pastor Peter said as Christians, we owe God our worship, irrespective of whatever we may be going through in life. He lauded the Accountant General’s foresight at setting aside a day yearly to worship and glorify God.
The event featured the rededication of the Office and staff of the Accountant General’s office to God.
Dignitaries who graced the Carol were, wife of the Accountant General, Deaconess Imaobong Andrew-Essien, Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongeait Etiebet. Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperative and spouse, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, friends of the Office and Pastors from Multiplied Grace Fellowship, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
