In keeping with her promise of ensuring that welfare of workers is given priority, the Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced the payment of the first batch of leave grant to civil servants in her employ.
A letter signed by the Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien indicates that as at 26th of September, 2019 some workers had already received their salaries alongside leave grants.
Pastor Andrew- Essien lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for not paying lip service to the well-being of the citizenry as evidenced in regular and prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements to civil servants.
The Accountant General stated that the leave grant is paid in batches spreading through October and November, and appealed to civil servants in the State to reciprocate Government’s kind gesture by showing commitment to their jobs.
