An umbrella socio-cultural Organisation for all the citizens of Itu Local Government Area (covering Itu Clan, Ayadehe Clan, Oku Iboku Clan, Mbiabõ Clan and Itam Clan), the Itu People’s Forum, is to be officially inaugurated on Friday, September 11, 2020.
The event, which is to be held at the Council Hall of Itu Local Government Area, is scheduled to commence by 10 am. The ceremony would have a former Commissioner for Education in the old Cross River State, retired erudite University Scholar and Village Head of Enen Atai Itam, Ette-iduñ (Professor) Elder Effaña James Usua, as the Chairman of the occasion.
Worthy of note is the fact that the body, a non-political Union, is formed to serve as a voice of Itu people, a source and bond of unity, strength and education for Itu People as well as a forum to engineer and pursue the unification of Itu People, at home and diaspora, for peace, harmony, justice, equity and sustainable development of Itu Local Government Area.
Also, a maiden Executive Council of the Itu People’s Forum, which has Hon. Akan-imõ Usaña as the Chairman, and Elder (Engr) Tony Edet James as the Secretary General, among others, is to be sworn in during the ceremony.
Specifically, Elders, Leaders, technocrats, academia, professionals, from all works of life, as well as all the sons and daughters of Itu Local Government origin are invited to grace the occasion.
