The Editor-in-Chief, Newsfront Newspapers, Saviour Ekpe has charged students of Itu Local Government Area in the state to take their studies serious and shun cultism.
He gave the charge recently in his office when a cross session of the executive of the National Association of Itu Students (NAIS) visited him in his office to submit a proposal for their upcoming seminar that will be held in August 2015 recently.
Ekpe who is one of the patrons of the association urged them to implement what is in the proposal in order to benefits not only the students of institution of higher learning but also to the secondary school students, adding that he will in collaboration with other patrons support them to achieve the aims and the goal of the organization.
Speaking further, Saviour Ekpe urged the Exco members to support and respect their President and that they should work as a team. While charging them to Unite together, he encouraged them to support people in power especially from the Local Government Chairman to the State Governor as well as the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, “you guys are upcoming leaders, whatever you do let it reflect respect to leaders. The respect should start from your association President to leaders at all leaders in the conventional politics that the local government, state and the nation. Aside these, engage yourself in effective studies, avoid cultism, gangsterism and other vices that that can mar your future”, he advised.
Earlier, Comrade, Effiong Daniel Ibanga who is the President of the association in his speech said that the association is planning a seminar that will educate the student of Itu Local Government Area about their culture and state of origin. “The seminar will show case creating awareness of the association, creating awareness about Itu culture and state of origin also students and politics participation, above all there will be skill acquisition like soup making etc”. He said He plead for support and contribution in other for them to make the upcoming event a success.
